We have access to most of the world popular digital technologies in China, but we cannot get sufficient information on global issues to activate the using of those digital technologies. That's just like a car with no fuel or a body without soul. Every language is deeply rooted in its culture, like Chinese, like English. We don't assume students can learn English well by lacking connection to English world.
Therefore, to answer my compelling question we need to discover the potential in our parents, colleagues, and other people around us. For instance, our parents can use their global insight to affect and cultivate students' global competence in daily lives; we can work with our colleagues to integrate global learning into daily teaching; we can also work with people outside of our schools to advocate for a more liberal learning environment for our students, and for us.
